Ginnie, here. Her older, wiser, awesome sister ;) who will be documenting her life for the next 18 months. What a treat!!
Today was the day: Yunnie entered the MTC and will be leaving for Oakland/San Francisco in about three weeks. She has been/is super excited to serve the Lord. I wonder now what she's doing....
Today has been a weird day for everyone for my family, and I think it's safe to say that it was weird/exciting for Sister Kim as well. On one hand, eagerness and happiness. What a great deed she's doing! The other, loneliness. There have been so many times today where I've wanted to call my sister up and talk... and then I realized I couldn't. It was a really sad feeling. I have never been in this situation. I am so proud of my sister, but boy oh boy, I am missing her. I will miss her every day for the next year and a half.
Please stay tuned for her future letters! I am sure they will be full of epic tales. :)

ReplyDeleteMy name is Burton. I honestly do not know where to start, other than I hope this is the same Sister Kim I met up at the Oakland Visitor Center. If it is, then Ginnie your sister is doing very well. I met her twice. First with 2 of my friends on July 3rd and again with my bro and our cousin, Randy who is not a member of the church, on July 31st. When we took our cousin Randy, it was his first time ever to a mormon temple. His experience there was in two words, "spiritually unforgettable" mostly because of the Spirit he felt while there but also in part of Sis. Chipana and lets not forget your sister, Sister Kim. Randy said that the sisters testimony coupled with the Spirit felt on the temple grounds and also at the visitor center has made him want to learn more about the gospel. Your sister, along with her companion were able to, as directed by the Spirit were able to help him realize even more, the importance of not only God in our lives but also how families truly can be together forever. I truly hope this is the same Sister Kim. lol. because if it is not, I am sorry for taking up space. Yet if it is, then I want you to know that your sister is a marvelous missionary, funny, caring, and above all else has a firm testimony in Jesus Christ. Take care and thank you for letting me comment.
